It's Monday! What Are You Reading?

It’s Monday! What Are You Reading? a place to meet up and share what you have been, and are about to be reading over the week. This meme started on J Kaye’s blog and then was hosted by Sheila from Book Journey. Sheila then passed it on to Kathryn here at The Book Date.

Jen Vincent, Teach Mentor Texts, and Kellee of Unleashing Readers decided to give It’s Monday! a kidlit focus. If you read and review books in children’s literature – picture books, chapter books, middle grade novels, young adult novels or anything in those genres – join them.

What I Read Last Week:

There were so many good reads this past week! I loved Harbor Me and Sunny (the Track quartet is becoming one of my favorite middle grade series). Skeleton Tree made me cry, I'm not going to deny it! I have reviews up for both Sunny and The Color of the Sun; I hope to have one up for Harbor Me and Mooncakes soon! Heavy was also an amazing, uncomfortable, devastating read. I'm definitely going to read more by Laymon.

Up Next:

I'm an avid reader, but I'm terrible at book challenges! So I made an effort to go and review my 2019 Popsugar Reading Challenge, and I'm trying to read books that fit some of the prompts. You know, so I don't have to scramble during the last week of December.

  1. While all your books are unfamiliar to me they sure look good and Skeleton Tree has a fascinating cover plus the fact it made you cry speaks well of it.

    1. The Color of the Sun is a really unusual book. It's good, but unconventional. Let me know what you think!

  3. I own a copy of Helen Oyeyemi's novel, but haven't gotten around to reading it yet - thanks for reminding me that I should get to it soonest!
