It’s Monday! What Are You Reading? a place to meet up and share what you have been, and are about to be reading over the week. This meme started on J Kaye’s blog and then was hosted by Sheila from Book Journey. Sheila then passed it on to Kathryn here at The Book Date.
Jen Vincent, Teach Mentor Texts, and Kellee of Unleashing Readers decided to give It’s Monday! a kidlit focus. If you read and review books in children’s literature – picture books, chapter books, middle grade novels, young adult novels or anything in those genres – join them.
What I Read Last Week:
The Middle Grade Madness challenge ended this week, and my team won! We did a wonderful job. I really hope the group hosts another challenge next year. I participate in a lot of reading challenges, but this was hands down the most fun! I celebrated the end of the challenge by reading ... more middle grade! It's one of my favorite genres, so it just makes sense. :) I also finished a few books that have been languishing on my Kindle for a long time. My favorites this week were: Star-Crossed, Braced, The Inn-Between, Braced, and Carry On.
Now that the reading challenge is over, I'm trying to work through my library holds and Netgalley ARCs. Both stacks are substantial - wish me luck!
Summer's almost over. My stepson just returned to school, and my daughter will start preschool for the first time next week. Everyone's excited and nervous at the same time! We will all have to get used to our new, more complicated drop-off and pick-up schedule, so I plan on reading a few graphic novels to relax.
