It's Monday! What Are You Reading?

It’s Monday! What Are You Reading? is a place to meet up and share what you have been, and are about to be reading over the week. This meme started on J Kaye’s blog and then was hosted by Sheila from Book Journey. Sheila then passed it on to Kathryn here at The Book Date.

Jen Vincent, Teach Mentor Texts, and Kellee of Unleashing Readers decided to give It’s Monday! a kidlit focus. If you read and review books in children’s literature – picture books, chapter books, middle grade novels, young adult novels or anything in those genres – join them.

Well, my family is still quarantined. My husband tested positive again today. And while we're all much better than last week, we have 50% as much energy as we used to. Even Isobel is more prone to lying on the couch than running around and playing.

This guy, on the other hand, is 100% better. He took all his medication and has been mingling with the bigger cats all week. As you can tell from the picture, he is very, very much at home.

Books I read last week:

I really delved into the horror genre last week. While all of these books were seriously amazing, White Smoke and Too Bright to See were my favorites.

  1. I'm glad you all are feeling better than last week, but I'm so sorry you're still feeling so fatigued and your husband is still testing positive! But I'm glad to see your cat is better, at least. And it's very cool that you got to read so many horror books—I made note of Too Bright to See. Thanks so much for the wonderful post, Wendi, and feel better!

  4. Sorry to hear that you are (still) not feeling well, and hope things get better soon. Lots of my students are asking for "scary" stories so I will have to check these out. I am reading Gravebooks, by J.A. White, who blurbed Ghost Girl, so I will probably start with that (my students do not usually want stories that are too scary). Thanks for the post, get well soon!

  5. I'm so sorry about your experience with Covid. Hope you all feel better soon. I don't usually love ghost books, but I enjoyed Too Bright to See because it was about so much more than ghosts. I may have to check the others out.

    1. Yes, I loved Too Bright to See because of that reason. It worked so well to incorporate the main theme into a ghost story.
